E-Myth Program: E-Myth Mastery Program® & E-Myth Leadership Intensive Seminar

In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this month we celebrate E-Myth Mastery client Saundra Shapiro and Compassionate Beauty. The five-year anniversary is a milestone that every cancer patient anxiously waits for; after five years, they officially become a survivor. In May 2010, Compassionate Beauty became a business survivor, beating the odds and celebrating their five year anniversary.

About the Business

Compassionate Beauty provides women and their care givers (family and friends) support, knowledge and services needed to best maintain their comfort, body image and self esteem during the months of cancer treatment and through survivorship.

This story begins when Compassionate Beauty was just a dream of mine. I sold a business that I had grown and loved for over 15 years. I thought about what Compassionate Beauty would need and what it would look like, and as I told my parents about my vision, they (especially my mom) tried to talk me out of it. "Why Saundra would you want to go back into all the work and heart ache that would surely be part of a store like that. Why don't you just stop working and enjoy your life?”

But, I knew my dream had heart and soul and was something that I simply had to bring to life. I needed to provide a way to help women get through the side effects of a cancer diagnosis and then follow them with the products and specialized services that they would want to help them lead a 'normal life.'

Compassionate Beauty provides women and their care givers (family and friends) support, knowledge and services needed to best maintain their comfort, body image and self esteem during the months of treatment and through survivorship.

Our days at Compassionate Beauty have been filled creating a variety of heartwarming relationships not just with patients themselves, but also with fellow care givers, doctors, nurses, nurse navigators, pre-op clinicians, and the many others who have directed their energies to those battling this vicious disease.

Every day we are both humbled and inspired by these incredible women who walk through our doors determined to maintain their dignity, self-confidence and sense of normalcy through the roller coaster of treatment. Being able to provide them with a variety of products and services to aid in their journey such as breast prosthesis, wigs, and post surgical garments help them to aesthetically feel better, while our specialized spa helps women feel better makes our days so rewarding.

There have been many lessons learned over the last five years, however, the most prevalent of those lessons for us has been that in the face of crisis, disease, and the unknown we all want to love and be loved, as well as, to be respected and appreciated.

When I started in the E-Myth Mastery Program, I was feeling like time was not on my side. I was feeling overwhelmed with working in the business and really wanting to work on the business. I knew that in order to see my goals realized I needed help.

I loved my E-Myth coach. She was a beacon in the darkness. She cared about my vision, my goals and ultimately every client that walked through my doors. I now look at the business more strategically. I try to incorporate systems to get better results. I don’t blame my staff for issues that are solvable with proper process. I enjoy my life more now.
