Podcast: 5 Essential Skills

Interview Summary

  • Concentration - One of the greatest challenges facing business owners involves the ability to focus on the task at hand despite the distractions we face every day.
  • Discrimination - Which tasks take you towards your goals and which tasks are distractions?
  • Organization - Prioritize tasks daily. Be realistic and try to limit them to no more than six per day. Keep a journal of how your time is spent. Sounds simple but it will be very revealing!
  • Innovation - Put creative ideas into action. Find new ways to accomplish your goals.
  • Communication - Do your research on who your customer is and how best to reach them. Get your message out through channels that target that customer profile. Don't waste time and money using channels that aren't in alignment with your customers.

The McKenzie Business Forum provides informative, insightful, innovative education to help entreprenuers grow their customer base and profit margin. The show airs live every Thursday at 3 p.m. EST on blogtalkradio.com.
