Last week I recorded the following unscripted video message for all of our clients and  friends. I hope you enjoy it (mistakes and all), and from all of us at E-Myth Worldwide, we wish you the happiest of holidays and the very best in the the year ahead.

We're taking a moment to reflect not only here in our business, but in our community and in our global small business community as well. If I spent all my time reading the news, I probably would not be as excited as I am right now. But what I've noticed is that small business owners all over have embraced the opportunity that can come from times changing. When I walk into our offices here in Santa Rosa, I feel positive and I feel it from all our employees. Why? Because we're working with you; and you are excited and positive! You're not getting lost in fear. Instead you're asking yourself, 'What can we do to get better?''

It's easy to forget that E-Myth Worldwide is actually a small business just like you. We've been around 31 years and I'm pleased to have worked with you directly for the last 13. We expect 2009 to be spectacular! We're planning innovations to better meet your needs, to help you succeed and thrive in your own communities and to keep that entrepreneurial, creative, innovative and resilient spirit alive.

Happy Holidays to you and yours and we look forward to working with you even more in 2009!

   With everything going on in the world today it is easy to become distracted. I believe that this is when leaders step up and lead. So I am challenging all of my leaders to step up and take advantage of the opportunities that are in front of us. It is time to reinvente ourselves and those around us. Its time to LEAD!!!

    Here's my take on the present economic circumstance. It's not the economy that's crashing, it's a paradigm, a context that's dying. Matter of fact it's dead. There has been a contextual shift from a "You OR me world, to a You AND me world. The "You AND me world" is an idea whose time has come. It is here, now. All the circumstantial turmoil comes from resistance to the new context as it establishes itself in the world culture. So, as a small business owner, I'm looking at how do I conduct my business in a You AND me world? What would that look like? I have no answers yet. I've lived for 77 years in the context of a You OR me world. I know well the rules for being successful in that world, but I haven't a clue what the rules for being successful are in a You AND me world. All bets are off, folks, and ain't that grand! I wish you all a fabulous time in '09 !!!!

    2008 has taught us many things ... The world's economy is at least as fragile as its environment ... The pricing of a barrel of crude oil (and how that affects petrol prices) is a mystery on par with how the pyramids were built ... and, as with all years previous, we've learnt that time is still precious.

    I think the most important lesson, which I need to relearn every year, is that life is about relationships. Happiness only comes as we build and maintain our relationships to others around us - family, colleagues, clients, friends, and even the brief smiles we give to anonymous people we pass in the street.

    As we draw near to 2009 I just want to thank you for the relationship that you have given me this year. I want you to know that I have sincerely appreciated what we have shared.
