How can you get people to do what you want? Really, you can't. But you can adopt systems that generate results predictably, and then assign people to run those systems. If something is going wrong, the E-Myth approach is to identify a problem with the system, rather than a problem with the person running the system.

A Simple System

Managers can use systems too, and a good one is a weekly, 30-minute "Employee Development" meeting between manager and staff member. The manager sets an agenda, and the meeting becomes the venue for solving problems, resolving conflicts, planning work and making agreements. This regular process helps employees to stay on track.
