Caught in a Riptide

Published: 03/27/2008

The E-Myth Insider

27 March 2008 Brought to you by E-Myth Worldwide

Dear E-Myth Reader,

Riptides or rip currents are powerful currents that flow away from shore. Swimmers caught in riptides (like this one photographed near Big Sur CA) can quickly be pulled out to sea, and often drown struggling against the current. Knowing rip current behavior and having a survival system can make the difference between life and death.

Businesses can likewise be caught by economic turbulence, and having reliable business systems in place can make the difference between survival and going under.

Survive a Riptide

Surviving a riptide requires knowledge of rip currents, patience and a system. The chart at right (from NOAA's 'Rip Current Safety' site) outlines a dependable survival system.
