Business Background
Business was good, no complaints. But something was missing.
Bob Beachy, owner of a successful residential construction and remodeling business, knew he wanted more. More time, more focus, more vision - more life.
Fortunately for Bob, the company always had a strong client focus. But the idea of focusing only on the "next client" was holding the business back from reaching its full potential.
After reading a trade magazine article on the successful turnaround of another construction company, which utilized the E-Myth training program to achieve remarkable results, Bob was intrigued.
Next Bob read everything he could get his hands on written by E-Myth founder and author of E-Myth Revisited, Michael Gerber. For Bob, it was the missing link, a way to focus his vision and help to implement it.
Business Challenges
Until the Mastery Program Bob says "we were coasting along, blowing with the winds of the market." No direction, vision, no focus except "to service the next customer."
What Bob didn't know then is that approach was creating some underlying problems within the company. Employees needed to know there was a purpose to their work lives and not wonder, "Is Bob just going to retire one day and we're out of work?" He needed his employees "on board" to realize his, and their, goals.
How E-Myth's Mastery Helped
"Something just clicked," he says when describing how the E-Myth business coaching program crystallized what he had always believed -- "the business needs to be designed to support your life not the other way around."
With the E-Myth Mastery program and weekly coaching, Bob was able to refine his vision and take the business to the next level. As part of that plan he developed the necessary leadership confidence and skills, established strategic objectives, created a "Blueprint" and "How to" manual to complete the job.
Specific Results
Since then, Bob's business has improved; production increased 20%, net profit is up 20%, revenue soared 150%. But more importantly to Bob is that employee and customer satisfaction is at an all-time high. A recent employee survey revealed that 97% of workers rate his company an "excellent" place to work. According to surveys and field experience, customers are happier than ever, too.
Bob, who no longer has day-to-day duties at his business, feels confident enough that things will be "just the same" when he returns from an upcoming three-week vacation. Now business and life is a pleasure.
Where Business is Going
And if Bob's vision continues to stay on track, he expects his business to double its revenue over the next two years. He also plans to send his managers through the E-Myth Mastery Program and move himself into more of an investor role.
Meanwhile, he says he'll continue working on systems development as well as train and prepare managers for growth to achieve his strategic objectives.
Future Goals
Life was good. But now, Bob knows that it can better than he imagined just two short years ago.
