Uniforms in a healthcare environment
I own a Physical Therapy company and supply my staff with 2 polo style shirts with company logo, but have never mandated that they be worn M-F. I'm considering implementing this. Please provide me feedback if you have uniforms in your company, specifically if you're in the healthcare industry.

Hello, I'm having doubt about a business idea. I have heard of people saying that you should always follow your passion and what you are truly good at. Well, I have been told that I'm very good with poems (I write them in spanish). And I was thinking of starting an online greeting card business with my verses. Hurrah !!!I have made it !!!
After 3 years of trying to get the property of my dreams for my business I got the keys last week . What a relief. Now the hard work really starts. I must say though without the other properties falling through I wouldn't have done my online embark course and know all I know now to make my dreams become a reality. My advice is if you really want something , stick with it, be tenacious and keep your passion alive.

How much is too much?
How does one work out how much to borrow and pay for the start up of a business?. The shop I want has a premium of £40,000. The lease holder wants me to pay that just for the lease- not for any business-it is an empty shop, all be it on a very good high street . My borrowing is £100,000 so 40% will go on the lease, basically just giving me the ability to potentially make money. On top I have legal fees- mine and his, rent deposit and advance, doing the shop up to a high standard, fitting it with great furniture, cash flow start up and all other things I probably haven't thought about. Good search engines for researching potential distributors
I'm about to sign up 12 months at around $160 a month with www.dandb.com, Dun and Bradstreet, so I can research possible distributors all over the world for our Hotteeze heat pads. I've tried international trade shows where everyone is all over us wanting to take our product and then... nothing much happens! I set our business up in Australia just by researching potential distributors and found some good ones but that's because I'm Aussie and know the country. Eg I want to put in "wholesaler health food" + Sweden and then have results in English!.. so far the best free site I've found is A&T's search engine. Any tips would be greatly appreciate

We are in the midst of changing our company name. We are an electrical contracting firm in the Midwest. 98% of our competition use their a format of ________ electric i.e Smith Electric. Our marketing firm suggests we stick with a descriptive name "_____ electric" to allow consumers to quickly catorgarize us. Other marketing firms suggest a name that is striking and creates recognition without specifically catorgorizing. Both have merit, the tried and true or some bizzare and new. I've been thinking of exceptions to the Michael's model. Self-employed people who did not run into the managemetn fiasco that Michael describes as typical. I've come up with the following exceptions:
1. Rae Preztula. Successful farmer. Hires no help.
2. Brenda McFaddin -- caterer. Occasionally hires temp help for large dinners.

When to imput sales in books
We are a residential construction company that specializes in Custom decks and basements. Most of our jobs are between $8,000 and $35,000.00 and we are usually booked out at least 1.5 months. Usually by the time I sign a job to the time the homeowners have made all their decisions it takes 1.5 months to begin construction. I am trying to determine when to we apply a sale to the books. Our accountant says we should wait until the work is at least started before we invoice and put the #s on the books. Ex. I sell a $10,000.00 deck on 3/1/07. I would lay out draws that would be 1. 10% deposit due 3/1/07. 2. 50% upon start of construction let say we can’t start for 3 weeks 3/21/07. 3. 40% upon completion 4/1/07. Under these circumsta ...
